Overview
SEO Tag Extractor — Etsy & Shopify ("the Extension") is a Google Chrome browser extension that helps users extract SEO tags, titles, meta descriptions, and keyword data from Etsy and Shopify product pages.
This Privacy Policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the terms of this policy.
Data we do not collect
The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of the following:
What the extension accesses
To function, the Extension reads page content only on etsy.com and shopify.com domains (including Shopify-hosted storefronts). It accesses:
- HTML meta tags — title, description, keywords, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags
- Product page headings and structured data (JSON-LD, schema.org markup)
- URL and page structure for extraction context
- Alt text from product images (for SEO analysis purposes only)
This data is read locally inside your browser tab and displayed directly to you. None of it is ever sent to any external server.
Local storage
The Extension may use Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to save your preferences such as display settings or export format choices. This data:
- Stays entirely on your device
- Is never synced to any remote server
- Can be cleared at any time by removing the Extension or using Chrome's "Clear data" option
Permissions used
The Extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary for its core functionality:

Third-party services
The Extension does not integrate with any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, tracking scripts, or data broker services.
No data — extracted tags, page content, or user preferences — is shared with any third party under any circumstances.
Children's privacy
The Extension is intended for use by adults and business users (e-commerce sellers, marketers, and SEO professionals). It is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from minors. If you believe a minor has used this Extension, no data is retained or at risk.
Changes to this policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Where required by platform policy (e.g., the Chrome Web Store), users will also be notified via the Extension's store listing.
Continued use of the Extension after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
